Charge Entry For ICD-10

All databases have been updated and are ready for ICD-10!  Practices are able to begin coding out ICD-10 before the official implementation date of October 1, 2015.  The ICD-10 codes that are entered during charge entry will automatically map back to ICD-9 codes when going out to insurance companies before the official start date of ICD-10.  Aultman MSO highly recommends that practices begin coding ICD-10 now to help prepare for October 1st.   An important thing to know when entering the diagnosis codes is that ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes cannot be entered on the same voucher.  If both ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes are entered on the same voucher then an error message will appear that states: “The following ICD9 codes have been mixed with ICD10 codes.”  If a person tries to save the voucher after receiving the first warning message then a second warning message will appear: “Both ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes cannot be used. Key in either all ICD-9 or all ICD-10 codes for this voucher.”
